Moving from a tropical climate as a young adult into the mysteriously counter-opposite, stark environment of the desert southwest, deeply influenced my view of our fragile natural world and my expression through the arts. Extremes of shifting light along a day and night’s trajectory and the graphic linearity of the landscapes of my homes in New Mexico and Colorado pull me repeatedly into creating modern abstracted paintings.
I solely employ the use of acrylic paints, washes, and inks. My current body of work of fluid pours and other spontaneous techniques generate unexpected and dynamic visual relationships, which are developed and refined to create an intriguing interplay of movement, color, and light. My process is always motivated by a desire to bring forth moments that capture and rouse the soul of imagination and foster a deep appreciation to protect the beauty of our earthly home. Enjoy!
